INDULGE, EXPLORE OR JUST SIT BACK AND RELAX

There's much to do at and around Paripuma. You might like to consider:
  • Sparking your landscaping creativity or just learning about NZ's fascinating natives on a Paripuma garden tour 
  • Visiting nearby world class wineries; NZ's largest sustainable winery Yealands Estate and Awatere River Wine Company​ 
  • Eating crayfish on the Kaikoura coast - visit The Store, a 'Pacific Experience' cafe at Kekerengu (60km south of Paripuma)
  • A wine tour of Marlborough wineries
  • Pack a picnic and stroll along the beach to the bluffs in the distance (2-3 hour round trip, low tide only)
  • Spotting Hector's Dolphins playing at the river mouth or see a whale offshore 
  • Whale-watching at Kaikoura (90km south of Paripuma) 
  • Hitting the slopes at the Rainbow Valley or Mt Lyford Ski Areas (both approx. 2 - 2.5 hours away)
  • Surfing Paripuma's right hand point break (you'll need a steamer 4/3 wetsuit and your own equipment)
  • Playing golf at the Awatere Valley Golf Club
  • Exploring the high country on a Molesworth Station tour
  • Hiking the stunning  Saw Cut Gorge - a 3 hr return walk (turn off SH1 40km south of Paripuma)
  • Cycling the Redwood Pass cycling track to Blenheim and back
  • Trying your luck surf-casting or white-baiting (season dependant, please bring own equipment)
  • Swimming in the Awatere River or the river mouth lagoon - with care, note we do not recommend ocean swimming
